Q: What is this place about?
A: This is a blog dedicated to 320kbps CBR mp3 and lossless (FLAC, WAV, APE etc.) rips of hip hop music.

Q: What's an .mp3 and/or .flac file?
A: They are types of audio files. Flac is a lossless format, which means bigger size = better quality. For more info go here.

Q: How do I download any of the albums or singles?
A: Below the tracklist you can find a download link for rar file, hosted on some of the public servers (rapidshare, megaupload, mediafire and such)

Q: I've downloaded a .rar file, what do I do?
A: You need WinRar to unpack the archive. Get it here.
After installation, right click on the archive and choose 'extract here'.

Q: A link is dead, what do I do?
A: Join our forums and post a thread in the 'Dead Links' section and one of the contributors will take care of it. Do NOT flood the comments field after the post. We get the point after the first person complains, thank you.

Q: I have a request and no one is responding in the chatbox, why?
A: Requests are filled in the forum ONLY. Register and make a thread in the 'Requests' section. Registration is free and takes only a minute of your time. USE SEARCH BEFORE REQUESTING.

Q: I found a transcode/upconvert posted. What do I do?
A: Leave a comment after the post, someone will respond shortly.

Q: Why won't you upload certain artists' material?
A: Some artists' albums get reported and blogger takes them down. Yes, we are aware of Jay-Z's, Common's and Outkast's existence. As much as we don't like Jay, that's not the reason we're not posting his albums. Some other names you won't see are: MF Doom, J Dilla (and EVERYTHING on Stones Throw records), A Tribe Called Quest, Method Man, TLC, Q-Tip, Goodie Mob, Busta Rhymes, Street Sweeper Social Club, Tha Alkaholiks, Ghostface Killah, Rhymefest, Black Milk, Jake One, Snoop Dogg, Clipse, The Game, Brother Ali and so on. You get the point.

Q: Why don't you add any commentary to your posts? I want to know what's worth downloading.
A: Due to the vast number of posts, we are unable to devote time to adding personal evaluation of the album posted. If you want to know what the album's all about, youtube's your friend.

Q: I have a few rips I want you guys to post here. What do I do?
A: Join the forum and send a PM to an admin (Beneficial, MWDP). We'll get you in the 'Submissions' group and show you what to do.

Q: I posted a submission in the right forum, but I don't see my post on the blog yet. What's wrong?
A: If your post is not on the list of stuff that gets reported, it might not have been processed by a staff member yet. Please, be patient, we post everything.

Q: What do you guys get out of this? I mean, no one shares stuff for free, right?
A: We get nothing. We do this because we want to share good music in good quality.

Q: I want to become a member of your staff and post albums myself. Are you hiring?
A: The staff section is full. We have a good team and we're not taking any new people in at this time.

Q: I support your cause and want to donate. How can I do this?
A: You cannot. Due to the nature of the site, we do not want people to support us financially. If you want to show your support, you can contribute with rips of albums, singles, vinyls and such.

Q: What is the contact mail for? Can I request stuff by mail?
A: The contact mail was made for site administration, not for chitchat and ESPECIALLY not for requests. Please, do not request by mail, you WILL be ignored.

Q: Do you own HQHipHop.com?
A: No we do not. Clearly someone who has seen this blog completely ripped us off with the purchase of that domain name and the whole look of it. Avoid these impostors.

Q: Do you own HQHipHop.net/.org?
A: Yes we do. Currently our blogs domain is www.HQHipHop.net.

Q: Does HQ Hip Hop have a facebook fan page?
A: Some pages do exist, but they are unofficial and NOT run by the HQ Hip Hop staff.
