The 1982 vinyl box set documents a number of Atlantic recordings as does the 1991 box set. The 1997 box set takes the listener through his entir career up to that point and the 1998 box set does the same for a particular genre of which he recorded. This final box set [and final Ray post unless I come up on some more vinyl] is the most comprehensive and complete Atlantic recordings box set released to date. It contains many of the ever-so-popular Atlantic records, but when you come to disc 4 it starts gettin' live. If you really want to hear something you probably haven't heard before, skip to disc 7: a treasure trove of rehearsals and outtakes available nowhere else. There is also a DVD of this to make up disc 8 but I don't have that.
